Role details

The Information Communication and Technology Department at the Mackay Base Hospital are seeking applications for a Director to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

You will provide leadership, direction and day-to-day management across the Mackay Hospital and Health Service (HHS) for locally supported Information Management (IM) and Information Communication Technology (ICT) that supports service delivery and integrates seamlessly with the enterprise solutions.

The HHS continues to evolve during this period of significant health reform and in relation to locally supported systems this role will coordinate the organisational response to providing suitable and reliable systems that support the changing environment of health services.

This will include developing and implementing a strategy that includes maintaining specific locally supported information systems and services that maximise the quality, access and use of information across the HHS.

About the Team

The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Department is a team of predominantly technical staff working closely with the Digital and Information Management teams, to provide advice and support to optimise patient care within a contemporary health care environment.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
