We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to provide high level support to the department’s fire management program by collating, managing and providing information consistent with planning and intelligence functions. This position will require high level organisation skills, research and analysis skills and highly developed written communication skills to ensure projects, plans, reports and briefs are completed in a manner that is timely and accurate and that the work is well written.

As the Senior Project Officer you will:
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, provide advice on and continuously improve strategies and systems, policies and procedures for fire management across QPWS&P.
• Research and analyse information, and prepare correspondence, reports, briefings and submissions regarding the development, progress and delivery of key projects and issues relating to fire management.
• Establish and maintain effective and cohesive relationships and partnerships with stakeholders including QPWS&P regions, other divisions, state and local
governments, the governance groups relating to fire management and provide advice as required.
• Provide advice and assist with the development of policies and procedures for use by QPWS&P staff on fire management.
• Participate as a proactive member of the Technical Services Branch. Represent QPWS&P in industry forums, interdepartmental meetings and other committees.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
