We have privacy focussed opportunity for an experienced privacy subject matter expert, with a minimum of 12 months' experience dealing with privacy related matters under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) (or similar privacy legislation), to support the Manager Privacy embed QBCC's Privacy framework and undertake operational readiness work in preparation for legislation reform compliance  for an initial 6 month contract in our Brisbane West End office.

As the Principal RTI and Privacy Officer, you will have the privilege in contributing to realising our vision as aligned with QBCC's vision of a thriving and resilient building and construction industry inspiring confidence, and supporting sustainable social, environmental and economic outcomes for Queensland. Specifically, you will help us build and maintain trust with our customers and people through:

  • Subject Matter Expert input into cultural shift and change management  in respect of operationalising privacy law
  • Analysis of information and data to make decisions and provide recommendations and advice in relation to privacy compliance
  • Assist the Manager Privacy with preparing QBCC's readiness for IP legislative reform
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships regarding handling personal information practices
  • Navigating privacy legislation and providing quality advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders
  • Project managing the review of the RTI practices, processes and systems
