Join our dynamic team as an AO7, Principal Policy/Projects Officer and use your policy development, analytical and project skills to drive positive outcomes in a rewarding role in the Policy and Legislation, Governance and Integrity team.
As an integral member of our team, you will lead policy projects relevant to the Governance and Engagement Division, including in relation to privacy and right to information policy, provide expert advice to senior leaders and contribute to the development of policy that delivers the government's priorities. About Us:
At the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC), our primary responsibility is to provide support and guidance to the Premier and Cabinet to effectively deliver on the government's priorities, commitments, decisions, and objectives for the betterment of the community.
Our team
The Policy and Legislation team provides legislative and policy advice and support to the Premier, Director-General and Senior Departmental Officers in relation to policy and legislation matters relevant to the Governance and Engagement Division. The team also provides secretariat support for the Queensland Independent Remuneration Tribunal and the Queensland Plan Ambassadors Council.

Your opportunity:
The Principal Policy/Project Officer will be responsible for managing policy projects, including in relation to privacy requirements, within the team as well as providing high level advice on governance and integrity matters relevant to the Division. The role will require co-ordination with other teams within the Department to ensure project outcomes and timeframes are met.
About you:
You will have demonstrated experience leading policy or governance projects in a dynamic and busy environment, preferably in a similar role, with experience researching and analysing legislation and policy to prepare written advice, briefings and submissions. Familiarity with information privacy requirements will be well regarded, as will a good knowledge of Cabinet and legislative processes.
