The Network Events Team look after event transport planning and alternative transport services (Rail Replacement buses).
The purpose of the Senior Advisor is to lead and develop appropriate event transport plans and processes in conjunction with Translink passenger transport business partners, including but not limited to service planning, contract management, operational communications, customer communications, revenue assurance and customer service arrangements. The Network Events Team look after event transport planning and alternative transport services (Rail Replacement buses).
The purpose of the Senior Advisor is to lead and develop appropriate event transport plans and processes in conjunction with Translink passenger transport business partners, including but not limited to service planning, contract management, operational communications, customer communications, revenue assurance and customer service arrangements. You will also maintain and report on Alternative Transport and Event finances for both internal and external bodies.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and coordinate Translink division's input into the development of transport strategies and multimodal Event Transport Plans for major venues and venue precincts, including necessary research, analysis, consultation, and legislative approval requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective internal and external partnering relationships with TransLink's business partners in rail, bus, tram and the broader event environment, including other government departments, local government authorities, special events teams and key stakeholders.
• Monitor and assess event service contracts with rail, tram, and bus operators to ensure provision of required services and satisfactory outcomes, while managing operator expectations and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Lead and develop appropriate plans and processes for delivering event transport services on the rail, tram, and bus networks.
• Liaise directly with Translink business partners in rail, tram, and bus to resolve strategic and operational issues arising during special events and during planned and unplanned closures on the rail network in a timely manner.
This position will be on call one week in five to arrange alternative transport services or when required.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Current ‘c' class driver's license
Requirements of the role
• Experience with event public transport would be advantageous but training would be provided for the right person.
• Experience in building and maintaining positive stakeholder relations.
• Experience in maintaining financial and contractual databases.
• Willingness to work outside of normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Occasional inter or intra state travel may be required.
