The Governance and Operational Policy team, within Wildlife and Threatened Species Operations, is responsible for a diverse range of interesting and challenging work that strives to strike a balance between the conservation of Queensland’s unique plants and animals and managing human-wildlife interactions for priorities species including crocodiles and flying-foxes.

Job details

In this role, you will contribute to a range of projects and programs, including developing and reviewing statutory instruments, strategies, plans, policies and guidelines that support the interpretation and implementation of the Nature Conservation Act 1992 outside protected areas such as national parks. You will be part of a team that contributes to the development and evaluation of policy or regulatory solutions for the conservation of nature.

You will also be required to respond to government and public enquiries in relation to interpreting legislation and assist with the coordination and progression of legislative processes.

Additionally, you will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders to contribute to the development, evaluation and reporting of complex policy.
