This is a newly established Directorate, which has the ambitious and exciting role of continuing to build and develop our expanded focus on systemic issues, and to implement the Commission’s expanded functions and powers.
You will lead and coordinate a small and dynamic team leading the Commission’s conduct of large-scale reviews, major projects and investigations within challenging legal and policy contexts.
You will combine a strategic focus with hands-on leadership to guide and empower a high-performing team to achieve our strategic goals and fulfil our legislative mandate.

As the Director, Prevention Projects you will:
* Provide effective leadership to the Prevention Projects team, including supporting, leading and uplifting all team members to inspire individual and team commitment.
* Provide high level strategic advice to ensure the Commission is well positioned to deliver on its statutory role in encouraging, supporting and ensuring compliance with the positive duty
* Provide end to end leadership of major reviews, investigations and policy projects (major projects) to achieve the Commission's strategic objectives, and those of the Public Policy and Prevention Directorate. Reviews and investigations may be voluntary or compulsive in nature.
* Establish and deliver on all aspects of our major projects, including leading our team to:
* negotiating terms of reference and establishing robust and effective governance strategies
* developing appropriate methodologies,
* leading the conduct of comprehensive and sophisticated research,
* sensitively and strategically gather information and undertake sophisticated analysis
* leading development of final report and recommendations, supporting and directing team members and content specialists
* Establish and oversee best practice governance processes, procedures for risk, quality assurance and compliance management for reviews.
* Initiate strategies to utilise further develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships and relationships with government, and non-government entities relevant to any of the Commission's reviews and special projects.
* Monitor and analyse media trends and issues of significance, to identify and provide advice about opportunities for proactive comment by the Commissioner, and to manage risk, relevant to the Commission's reviews and special projects.
* Represent the Commission in high level public forums and negotiations with key stakeholders and formal advisory roles in relation to the Commission's reviews and special projects.
