Role details

The Pharmacy Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Pharmacist (Clinical Educator) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

  • The Pharmacist Clinical Educator is responsible for the clinical development of the pharmacy workforce at Mackay Base Hospital.
  • A large component of the role is to provide education and training of undergraduates, interns, general level and new-to-hospital Pharmacists in clinical pharmacy practice across the Mackay HHS. The Clinical Educator also contributes to the training of nursing staff and medical officers across the Hospital and Health Service.
  • The Clinical Educator is also expected to maintain a clinical caseload and participate in quality improvement activities which support the organisational goals of Mackay Base Hospital.

About the Team

Our Pharmacy Service is based at the Mackay Base Hospital and provides patient centred pharmacy services, seven days a week. Our pharmacy provides medication on hospital prescriptions for use while patients are in hospital.
