The DESBT regional network provides localised service delivery across the departmental priority areas of employment, small business, and training. The effective departmental service delivery is achieved through the regulation of the state's apprenticeship and traineeship system; strategic training and skills investment strategies; informing consumers about the suite of departmental programs.

About the role
As the Senior Field Officer, you will
· Provide leadership, support and advice to industry partners, client groups and stakeholders on the regional programs and services administered by the department.
· Participate in a multidisciplinary team environment and support, manage and supervise staff or operate independently, as per operational requirements.

What we are looking for
The position requires an applicant who can:
• Provide high quality and well researched advice, interpretation and feedback to senior managers, colleagues, staff, clients and stakeholders on a broad range of issues which impact on the vocational education and training system in Queensland, including apprenticeship and traineeship training, stakeholder capacity building, workforce development initiatives and programs administered by the department.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, directives, and departmental policies which support Queensland's vocational, education and training system, including investigation of issues/complaints, the collection of information/data, the preparation and presentation of documentation.
• As part of a team, supervising staff or working independently, undertake research, analyse information, and make recommendations based on evidence on a broad range of issues specifically relating to regional services and programs.
• Participate in the development, implementation, on-going management and performance evaluation of regional activities, including operational planning, information and system development, data integrity and good governance accountability.
• Deliver programs, initiatives and services and establish and maintain collaborative partnerships, which consider the diversity of stakeholders, clients and customers across the vocational education and training system and the efficiency of services.
