In the role of Advisor (Procurement) you will contribute to the planning, implementation, execution and delivery of a range of business support services focusing on end-to-end procurement activities and financial and administrative support. This is a permanent position and offers flexible location options, allowing you to be based in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide advice and support for procurement related activities including preparation of procurement documentation, liaising with external parties, and assisting with tender processes, in alignment with the departmental procurement business and governance framework. This includes, but not limited to, identifying appropriate procurement options, including knowledge of relevant arrangements and panels.
• Support activities to ensure compliance with corporate governance obligations, standards, legislation and policies, and report on non-compliance, and implement, monitor, and report on rectification measures.
• Provide support, and work as a team, to maintain financial and procurement systems, processes, and local practices using software packages, for example, spreadsheets, databases, and platforms including SAP, SAP Fieldglass, and 3PCM. including delegation of tasks, management of workloads to ensure optimum utilisation of human resources, systems, information, and other resources within the section.
• Support the Senior Advisor (Business Operations) in managing and implementing identified projects which contribute to improvements to business operations and service delivery, with a particular focus on procurement.
To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate:
• Experience in infrastructure, goods and services procurement, contracts and compliance and knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and other standards and guidelines.
• Experience with software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel), SAP, project management software (3PCM).
• Effective decision-making skills with the ability to gather and evaluate a range of information to determine the most effective option in a timely manner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
