You will lead a talented team of creative professionals, where no two days are the same, whether you are involved in influencing behaviours of Queenslanders through long-form campaigns, assisting with complex police investigations or building the platforms we use to engage with our audiences.
Contributing to external communications, campaigns and marketing, social media and media on behalf of the QPS, you will have a front row seat in creating effective and engaging content for our large audiences.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Develop, implement and evaluate media management, corporate communication, public affairs and marketing strategies on behalf of regions, commands and divisions of the QPS.
• Represent the Media and Public Affairs Group and the QPS at meetings with clients and stakeholders of the QPS.
• Produce news releases, social media information, speeches, internal and external online and printed publications and marketing and promotional materials.
• Lead and supervise small teams to ensure effective initiation, development and implementation of media management, public affairs and marketing projects.
• Provide specialist advice to members of the QPS on media, social media, public affairs, marketing and corporate ID issues.
• Identify proactive media, marketing and promotional opportunities for the QPS.
• Prepare news releases, talking points, speech notes and briefing material for use by QPS executives or the Minister.

• There are no mandatory requirements for this role. However, qualifications and/or experience in journalism and/or public affairs in a large geographically dispersed organisation will be considered favourably.
