Join the dynamic team at CITEC Integration and Enabling Technologies within the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG) in a pivotal role as a Senior Network Specialist. The Connectivity Services team is looking for an individual who can lead by providing specialist technical advice, project management expertise, and support for operational network communication environments.

As a Senior Network Specialist, your contributions will be essential in maintaining and managing ICT assets and services crucial for the government's operations. Your role will involve complex technical consultancy to both internal and external clients, leading and executing technical projects focused on network infrastructure, and providing ongoing operational support.

Key responsibilities will include:
Offering expert technical advice to the business community and clients. Managing technical projects related to network infrastructure design, evaluation, and enhancements. Conducting detailed incident analysis, managing problem resolution, and executing change management tasks. Sharing knowledge within the team and mentoring junior technical staff. Researching new and emerging technologies to enhance CITEC services. Being available for on-call duties, out-of-hours work, and potential travel.

To excel in this role, you should have:
Demonstrated experience in technical roles with a solid track record of resolving complex IT issues. Profound knowledge of network technologies and the ability to oversee multiple projects. Strong project management skills with a history of delivering medium to large-scale network projects successfully. Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence stakeholders.

Mandatory requirements include a criminal history check, and you may be subject to additional pre-employment checks. The role is supported by a wealth of desirable technical competencies in areas such as network virtualisation, routing protocols, application delivery networking, and more. Desirable competencies include proficiency in technologies like network security, software-defined networking, and automation tools.

The position is located at the heart of Brisbane, where CITEC is at the forefront of delivering secure and innovative solutions to facilitate effective government services to all Queenslanders. This transition to the newly established Department of Customer Services, Open Data, and Small and Family Business may come with varying conditions and entitlements to be confirmed at the interview stage.
