With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland. Its landscape ranges from beautiful coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breathtaking rock formations. The region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.

The Role
In the role of Finance Advisor you will provide financial and procurement support for Central Queensland Region to ensure the effective delivery of the Region's Program of Works. You will build, develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with key customers and stakeholders within the region. You will work closely with the Senior Finance Advisor and provide leadership to team members to ensure effective management of the functions undertaken by the Procurement & Project Support team.
• Provide guidance, assistance and advice in relation to the region's procurement activities to ensure compliance with TMR's procurement policies and guidelines.
• Contribute as part of the Central Queensland Region Procurement Team to coordinate procurement processes across the region ensuring customer focused, timely, high quality, value for money solutions are achieved whilst adhering to TMR's Strategic Procurement Plan.
• Provide leadership and support across procurement and contract administration support activities in alignment with departmental business and governance frameworks.
• Maintain ongoing procurement and project support documentation and records to reflect both departmental requirements and record keeping guidelines.
• Provide contract administration support including the provision of contract establishment, preparation of progress payments, management of contract variations to budget on a variety of infrastructure and non- infrastructure projects.
• Ensure timely creation and processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and invoices using the department's electronic system (s) for the procurement of departmental goods and/or services.
• Delivery of other financial services including accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reconciliations.
• Utilise a variety of software packages to support the financial management function within the Region (SAP, 3PCM, Microsoft Excel).
• Foster a working environment which exemplifies professionalism in performance, integrity and respect for people while building team capability by sharing learning and mentoring and coaching other staff.
• Actively participate in personal performance training and appraisal through accepting and providing positive and constructive feedback as well as undertaking training and development opportunities that are identified as necessary to achieve work unit goals, and gain awareness of corporate responsibilities through the appropriate induction processes and participation in relevant programs.
