Maritime Safety Queensland’s (MSQ) Maritime Assets and Infrastructure (MAI) section is seeking a high performing Director to lead the Marine Infrastructure unit in the successful delivery of its significant program of work. The Director (Marine Infrastructure) role requires a strategic, adaptable and transformational leader, with a strong background in strategic planning and/or program management and delivery, ideally within a maritime marine environment.

About the role
The Director (Marine Infrastructure) is one of two Directors reporting directly to the Executive Director (Maritime Assets and Infrastructure).
The role is responsible for:
• Leading the coordination of strategic planning, delivery and monitoring of work programs and accountabilities relating to maritime property and recreational marine infrastructure across Queensland.
• Creating meaningful relationships and professional networks with internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues within TMR and MSQ; Local, State and Federal agencies; service providers; industry; Traditional Owners and community groups to ensure successful delivery of maritime and marine infrastructure in Queensland.
• Leading a range of financial, procurement and contract management activities relating to the governance of the maritime property, boating infrastructure, and the Torres Strait Islands Marine Infrastructure Program (TSIMIP), ensuring full compliance in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and practices.
• Ensuring the provision of authoritative and high-level strategic advice on the delivery of the programs to the Minister, Director-General, Deputy-Director General (CSSR), General Manager (MSQ) and other internal and external stakeholders.
About you
As a key senior leader within Maritime Safety Queensland, you will have a proven track record of successfully leading and inspiring diverse teams, and a demonstrable ability to build and foster strong stakeholder relationships. You will also have experience in the strategic planning and project management of infrastructure delivery. This experience would include communicating sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the maritime industry will also be highly regarded.
