The Passenger Transport Strategy and Technology branch of Translink leads the delivery of key ICT projects delivering benefits to customers and delivery partners. The Smart Ticketing program continues to be a key component of branch delivery.

Smart Ticketing is transforming the way customers can travel on public transport by delivering new innovative ticketing technology to Queenslanders. The Smart Ticketing solution extends the range of payment options available to customers for travel to include mediums such as bank cards, smart phones and wearable smart devices. This initiative remains aligned to Department of Transport and Main Roads commitment to provide Queenslanders with transport solutions that are affordable, cost-effective and able to adapt to future growth and technology.
Key responsibilities
In the role of Core Systems Manager, you will play a critical role on the Program ensuring the Suppliers' core system is fit for purpose through the systems development lifecycle with effective management of software and hardware and hardware configuration controls and appropriate alignment to TMR and best practice systems engineering standards.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide in-depth ticketing expertise to the Program across the complex core
systems solution area including a sound understanding of account based, automated
fare collection including open payment system solutions and user-facing digital solutions.
• Ensure the Supplier's core system solution architecture, design and developed solution meets requirements, relevant technical standards, legislation, and industry best practice through the systems engineering process including formal technical review gates.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the Supplier's core system deliverables and solutions.
• Provide guidance to the TMR Testing team on the complex aspects of core systems solution that require a higher level of testing focus.
• Apply sound problem analysis, change impact assessments and innovation skills to perform root cause analysis contributing to defect and issue resolution.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
· Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Desirable Requirements of the role
· Experience (5+) years as lead developer/advisor for ticketing central systems and digital solutions
· · Extensive experience working with external suppliers in the development and delivery of complex systems solution deliveries
· Demonstrated understanding of Passenger Transport system design concepts and the application of technical knowledge to successfully identify solutions that fulfil business needs and enrich the customer experience.
