Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks (GBR&MP) Region are excited to share an incredible opportunity for an Administration Officer to join the team on a temporary basis, through to 30 June 2025.

As one of the six regions of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the GBR&MP Region delivers conservation and management activities across land and sea including implementing the Reef Joint Field Management Program.

This role provides essential administrative support across recruitment, correspondence workflows, and general operations within the Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks Region. Key duties include managing interview logistics, drafting recruitment reports, coordinating workflows, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with administrative, financial, and HR tasks.

The position also involves maintaining databases, handling record management and supporting event coordination. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience with Microsoft 365 and similar tools is favourable.

Role focus: 
• Provide administrative support for recruitment and selection activities within the Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks Region.
• Assist with updating templates and tracking the progress of applications.
• Manage the Region's Correspondence workflows and shared mailbox, ensuring timely escalation, monitoring deadlines, and performing quality assurance for outgoing correspondence.
• General administrative assistance, including financial support, human resource services, record management, and organising events within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Parks Region.
• Identify operational improvements and assist in developing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and work practices.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, MECS, SAP, Aurion, Fraedom, and SharePoint is advantageous.

To be considered you must hold the following qualifications: 
• An unrestricted manual driver's licence

There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this position, however formal qualifications in Administration would be highly regarded.
