Role details
The Better Health NQ at the Mackay Base Hospital, Townsville Hospital or Cairns Hospital is seeking applications for a Program Support Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
- The Program Support Officer will work closely with the Senior Director Better Health NQ and be responsible for providing high level secretariat, administrative, communication and business support to Better Health NQ.
- The position will support the management and implementation of the Better Health NQ priorities and associated workstreams and other support activities as required.
- The role requires the ability to work remotely from team members with a high level of autonomy in a fluid environment.
About the Team
Better Health NQ is a collaboration between the five north Queensland Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) – Mackay HHS, Townsville HHS, Cairns & Hinterland HHS, Torres & Cape HHS, North West HHS, and Northern Queensland PHN. The Better Health NQ vision is to achieve equity in access to health services and health outcomes for all North Queenslanders.
The role of Better Health NQ is to advocate for the region informed by data and intelligence and support the oversight of funded regional projects.
Central to this function is stakeholder communication and engagement.
The Better Health NQ team is small with most interactions occurring with stakeholders through meetings as part of a virtual team across North Queensland.

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
