We have a temporary vacancy for up to four years with the possibility of extension for a Senior Advisor (Project Controls) on the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project. In this role, you will work as part of a team accountable for supporting the successful delivery of the LGC suite of projects. Embedded within the projects, you will review, analyse, and report on major contractor progress while ensuring the consistent application of project and program controls across this extensive program of works.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working on one of the region's most exciting rail network projects.
The LGC project will unlock the current capacity bottle neck on the South East Queensland rail network to enable more services to run more frequently and reliably between Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast and is a key infrastructure investment ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. With extensive track upgrades, 9 new train stations, 5 level crossing removals, park 'n' ride upgrades and new active travel pathways, this transformational project will deliver significant benefits to communities, customers and businesses along the 20km corridor.
You will work as part of a team accountable for supporting the successful delivery of the LGC suite of projects. As a senior advisor embedded in the projects, you will review, analyse and report on major contractor progress. You will also ensure the consistent application of project and program controls across the extensive program of works.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Guide, enhance and influence LGC Program/Project Control practices, including cost control plans, schedule master plans, and risk register maintenance.
• Contribute to project budget management and cost control activities, such as budget creation, scheduling, change management, estimation, progress tracking, forecasting, and earned value management.
• Demonstrate strong project accounting knowledge, including accrual collection methods.
• Maintain attention to detail, organisational skills, and effective time management to support project processes.
• Understand and communicate project budgets, monitor baselines, and address discrepancies to ensure timely end-of-month processes.
• Support the Principal Advisor (Project Controls) and Project Directors by monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and performing trend and critical path analyses.
• Collaborate with the Delivery team to monitor project deliverables and track physical completion percentages, including quantities installed.
• Maintain accurate cash flow and commitment flow records throughout all project phases to generate Earned Value and Forecast Curves.
• Manage project expenses in alignment with TMR guidelines.
• Prioritise and deliver tasks within set deadlines, adhering to quality, cost, and time constraints.
• Foster a proactive, performance-focused culture within the team and engage in performance conversations to drive continual improvement.
Highly Desirable:
• Extensive experience working in a project controls environment on an infrastructure delivery project would be highly regarded.
• The ideal candidate should possess practical experience in areas such as cost control, Earned Value Management, budgeting, project scheduling/planning, and reporting on contract progress and performance.
