Role details
The Social Work Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Director to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
- To provide high level strategic and professional leadership and governance of Social Workers across the Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS).
- To provide high level operational management of Social Work services within Mackay Base Hospital (approximately 11 FTE) and professional oversight of Social Workers throughout the MHHS (approximately 44 FTE).
- To apply well developed clinical knowledge and skills to provide authoritative counsel to relevant stakeholders to influence the strategic direction of Social Work Services within the MHHS.
About the Team
Our Social Work Service delivers care to patients, families and carers throughout our hospital system as well as in our community and rural based health services. Our Social Workers are members of the treating team and provide a broad range of generalist and specialist services including, counselling, care coordination and guidance regarding: diagnosis and illness management, treatment and recovery processes and referral information.
About our Hospital and Health Service
Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
