The Queensland Police Pipes and Drums are seeking a Pipe Band Drummer.

In the Queensland Police Pipes & Drums (QPP&D) you will perform & contribute to strengthening relationships between the Queensland Police Service (QPS) & the community through engagement & crime prevention initiatives.

A high level of integrity and professionalism is expected.

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Perform duties as a professional musician within the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums.
  • Represent the QPS at internal and external forums and communicate effectively with members of the local community by providing advice on crime prevention initiatives.

Role Requirements:

Highly Desirable

  • Ability to operate music score software and possession of general proficiency with computer software.
  • Possession of intermediate certificate or equivalent.
  • Applicants who can demonstrate competence in performing on a secondary instrument (for example, bass guitar, guitar, or drum kit) would be desirable.

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience

  • Applicants must demonstrate high level of musicianship with a required competency level, performing on the Pipe Band Snare Drum, at an Australian Pipe Band Association, Grade Two standard, or overseas equivalent.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an intermediate level of musicianship with a required competency level, performing on the Pipe Band Bass Drum, at an Australian Pipe Band Association, C Grade standard, or overseas equivalent.

Other

  • This role requires wearing of a uniform and requires a degree of physical fitness that enables the ability to march, stand and play for a short to long periods of time.
