Reporting to the Director (Indigenous Strategy), you will play a pivotal part in assisting the program delivery of the team.

Some of your responsibilities as Program Officer will include:
• Providing efficient, professional support to the Director (Indigenous Strategy) and wider Indigenous Strategy team including management and maintenance of emails and meetings, as well as booking intrastate and interstate travel and accommodation and conferences.
• Supporting the delivery of key projects and initiatives related to First Nations Strategy.
• Document management including preparing, and/or assisting in the preparation of, a suite of documents including reports, PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes, submissions and correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
• Preparing, collating and disseminating consistently high-quality meeting and project papers to support the Director and Indigenous Strategy team.
• Finance activities including administering the Corporate Card for the Indigenous Strategy Team including the monitoring and reconciliation of Corporate Cards, payment of invoices, accounts receivable ensuring compliance with departmental financial standards and timeframes.
• Assist in the preparation of executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. One of the referees must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Desirable qualifications and conditions
• Queensland Drivers licence required for the role as intrastate travel will be required.
The successful candidate will be an integral team member, accepting decision-making responsibility and knowing when to escalate issues. They will communicate clearly, adjusting messages for different stakeholders, and support others by providing timely, articulate, and non-technical information within their area of expertise. This position is located in Brisbane, however other locations may be negotiated with the suitable candidate.
