Are you an experienced leader, motivated and ready to take on the challenge of leading the delivery of client focused support and management of the Departments Enterprise Data Platform? Join our team in this management role within the Digital Systems and Solutions team. The Digital Systems & Solutions team provides a range of business focused IT services, including Enterprise Data Platform management and support, systems administration and application development and support.

You will lead and manage the Data Platform Management and Support team overseeing the ongoing operational support, maintenance and enhancement of the department’s Enterprise Data Platform.

The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV) previously known as the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water is at the forefront of driving sustainable growth across Queensland. Key Accountabilities:
• Lead and manage the data platform support team to develop, maintain, enhance, administer, and support an enterprise data platform and information technology services.
• Ensure IT service management is highly client focused and aligned with ITIL practices and support continual improvement.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for new technology solutions and system enhancements to support current and future business needs.
• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and processes for the provision of operational, tactical and strategic reporting capabilities to departmental stakeholders.
• Lead the team in the provision of technical work required to ensure high availability and performance of an enterprise data platform and supporting technologies including monitoring, maintenance, and incident management.
• Develop, implement and maintain processes and controls for the effective and appropriate governance of the department's information and data assets.
• Design, develop and implement mechanisms for collecting, presenting, analysing, interpreting and reporting on departmental service outcomes to support decision making and promote public accountability.

About You
• Technical expert knowledge of operational, tactical and strategic reporting and data warehousing related technologies.
• Demonstrated management experience of an associated support team creating tailored reporting solutions.
• Experience in data architecture, data management, models, flows, data warehouse design, report design, Power BI, SSMS/SQL.
• Ability to provide technical advice to projects to enable specific reporting needs and evaluate impacts of design decisions.
• Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary technical team (i.e. ETL Developers, Business Analysts, Report Developers and Data Analysts) including the ability to prioritise critical operational tasks, execute project work plans and revise as to meet changing requirements.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and impacts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven negotiation, consultation and communication skills for use in a complex project environment to contribute to improved delivery services.
