The Clinical Nurse will conduct assessments and treatment of children and young people (and their carer networks) with severe and complex mental health problems and disorders as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Consumer outcomes will be maximised by providing collaborative family-centred care whilst promoting safe and professional standards of nursing practice and conduct.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provision of high level independent clinical services including assessment, treatment and case management to children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems, and their carer networks, beyond routine day to day presentations.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership in advocacy for the mental health needs of service consumers.
- Demonstrate high level knowledge and skills in a practice area of child and youth mental health, with the capacity to engage and communicate with complex systems around young people with mental illnesses. Further training and experience, or the ability to acquire this, in the field of Family Therapy would be highly regarded.
- Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence, to a complex caseload to continuously contribute to the development of best practice mental health services within the Child and Youth Mental Health team.
Remuneration value up to $131 900 p.a., comprising salary between $107 960 - $115 604 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6)(Permanent Full-Time, 76hrs p.f.).
