We are seeking a Principal Program Officer to lead the administration of Youth Justice programs to support vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in, the youth justice system.

The Principal Program Officer, Youth Justice Commissioning and Investment administers programs to support vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in, the youth justice system.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the commissioning cycle and be experienced in program design, procurement, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, with a strong focus on ensuring services are delivering quality outcomes for young people and value for investment of public funds.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Develop, manage and implement culturally appropriate and responsive projects and programs that support the effective delivery of services to vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice.
- Provide high level program management advice and direction in relation to initiatives for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice.
- Identify information from a wide range of sources and provide strategic analysis and advice on complex operation program, policy and legislative issues relating to the programs and initiatives vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations to deliver on project outcomes that support the department's capacity to deliver and maintain quality services.
- Provide high level liaison, consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders towards the development and implementation of whole-of-government policy and program initiatives relating to the programs and initiatives for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice.
- Ensure that service delivery arrangements support the department's program and strategic intent.
- Prepare a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerned with the programs and initiatives for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice.
- Provide direction to staff in relation to project and program management and coach and mentor staff in their development to ensure the necessary skills and motivation exists in the team.
