This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performing team of Tribunal Officers who provide administrative support to the Medical Assessment Tribunal.
Working to support the Medical Assessment Tribunal, Tribunal Officers support virtual and in person tribunal hearings across numerous speciality types whilst working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high quality outcomes.

The Medical Assessment Tribunals consist of over 200 appointed medical specialists sitting regularly on tribunals and making medical decisions about workers' injuries within the Queensland workers' compensation scheme.
As a Tribunal Officer your key responsibilities will include being responsible for supporting tribunal hearings across a range of specialty types, as well as working collaboratively to provide seamless administrative support to the Medical Assessment Tribunal. This will include organising and preparing for tribunal hearings, face to face stakeholder liaison and dictation typing, electronic file management and the ability to prioritise and autonomously manage your workload to ensure targets are met.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, it would be highly regarded if applicants have:
- Advanced word processing, data entry and technical proficiency
- Previous experience in dictaphone typing
- Adobe and electronic file management experience in a paperless office environment
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders and build and sustain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and tribunal doctors.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of medical terminology and workers compensation legislation
- Demonstrated effective task prioritisation, multi-tasking skills and ability to manage timeframes to meet deadlines
