We are currently seeking a new team member to join and our small team of rangers at the Moonford work unit (Monto) to manage National Parks and State Forests within the North Burnett and Gladstone regional council areas.

As a WOO4 Ranger you will be required under the direction and collaboration with the Ranger in Charge, supervise staff and plan and deliver the weekly work program in maintaining the values of QPWS protected estates.
One key focus at the present time involves management of Kroombit Tops National Park with a strong emphasis on protection for critically endangered species including the Kroombit tinkerfrog, Kroombit treefrog and monteiths spiny crayfish. To achieve these goals rangers are undertaking extensive programs of pest management, weed management, fencing projects and fire management.

• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply a strong knowledge of natural resource management, nature-based recreation and related issues

• Support and deliver good governance. behaviors and values
• Works productively independently, as a member of a team or as a supervisor to ensure set tasks, projects and objectives are delivered.
• Undertake general estate development and protection duties
• Operate and maintain minor plant, equipment and fleet vehicles.
• Takes pride and shows willingness and enthusiasm in promoting and sharing our parks with visitors
• Demonstrates the ability to safely undertake duties according to procedures and policies as well as through appropriate risk management approaches as required.
• Understands and applies relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures including those specifically relating to workplace health and safety, workforce management, finance, compliance and emergency response.
