A permanent opportunity exists for a Director to join the Legal Services team within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. As Director you will deliver independent, strategic legal advice on a diverse range of matters to support the General Counsel and the department. Through your specialist knowledge of legislation and public administration frameworks, you will support the General Counsel to deliver a professional legal service to Queensland’s lead public service agency.

Legal Services is responsible for the delivery of independent strategic legal advice and support to the Director-General and the department. Our team has a key role in ensuring that DPC operates within robust and effective governance and integrity frameworks.
How you'll contribute
As Director you will work across Government, take a whole of government view and partner collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to assist in the delivery of the Government's objectives. You will operate as a trusted legal adviser, acting with professionalism, integrity and in line with the ethical principals fundamental to good public administration.
What you'll bring to the role
You will bring your ability to reduce complexity to simplicity and engage across a range of audiences. You will be calm under pressure and have high level interpersonal skills. You will have demonstrated legal experience relevant to the position and demonstrated experience in a leadership role and in fostering a culture of collaboration and participation. You must have a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution and be admitted, or eligible for immediate admission, as a legal practitioner in Queensland.
