Join our team as a Part-time (4 days a week) Assistant Electorate Officer for Mrs Rebecca Young MP Member for Redlands in the Electorate Office located in Victoria Point.  In this multifaceted role, you'll provide comprehensive support to Mrs Young MP, ensuring smooth operations within the Electorate Office.

About the role

As an Assistant Electorate Officer, you will work closely with the Member and the Electorate Officer to support them with their Parliamentary duties.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing a busy inbox, responding and triaging a significant volume of emails to keep communication on track.
  • Maintaining Mrs Young's diary, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
  • Supporting the Electorate Office staff with administrative functions.
  • Compiling and publishing newsletters and updates.
  • Undertake research into various issues.
  • Liaising with constituents who contact the electorate office for information and assistance.
  • Supporting and engaging with community groups directly or through established external forums.
  • Ensuring adherence to financial obligations as set by legislation and Parliamentary Service policy and procedure.

About you            

To ensure success in this role, you should possess the following skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of clients and stakeholders.
  • The ability to comprehensively use a range of PC software packages.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team.

This is a permanent part time opportunity working 4 days per week – perfect for candidates ready to take their career to the next level!
