Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Administer the delivery of construction and/or maintenance projects including programming, monitoring of expenditure, controlling, and reviewing of project priorities.
• Review of the contractors' program of works, quality, environment, safety, and traffic management plans, identify deficiencies and monitoring external contractors to ensure adherence to relevant workplace health and safety requirements, and also apply relevant WH&S requirements within the workplace.
• Conduct and/or manage audits of contractors' works, processes and quality records to ensure compliance with governance and contract conditions, including specialised inspections, for example precast prestressed components and asphalt.
• Maintain and/or manage the collection of detailed records (diaries, test results, photos) and reports at a standard suitable for presentation in a legal environment.
• Provide regular advice to the Superintendent on contractor performance, including hold points, NCR's, CAR's and general progress against project plans while providing technical support, advice, knowledge and experience to achieve effective outcomes from sole invitee, local government and open contracts.
• Review documentation and provide feedback on departmental specifications and procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of management systems while implementing Project Management techniques including the development and implementation of risk management and surveillance plans.
• Investigate complaints and requests for action from the public in relation to road network operations. Liaise and communicate with the community, local authorities, utilities, local Government and developers on all aspects of operations in the delivery of transport infrastructure.
• Mentor and coach peers to foster professional growth and development within the team.
• Assist in the development of co-worker's skills by sharing knowledge and learnings.
• Collaborate with road works inspector occupational group for training and coordinate targeted training opportunities by identifying key areas of development for peers.
This role reports to the Principal Engineer.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Possession of a class "C" driver's licence will be necessary to undertake duties.
• Participation in the TMR Road and Infrastructure Inspector Career Development Framework.
Highly Desirable:
• Relevant industry or roads infrastructure experience or experience in the construction and maintenance of bridges and large drainage structures.
• The following qualifications would be highly regarded:
o Certificate III in Civil Construction, or equivalent.
o Certificate IV in Project Management Principles, or equivalent.
o Certificate IV in Construction Operations.
o Certificate IV in Construction Supervision.
o Diploma in Civil Supervision.
