The Brisbane 2032 Planning team is accountable for developing multi-modal transport strategies and plans to support the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The team also coordinates Games-related planning across the department and with partner agencies.
In the role of Principal Planner you will prepare and contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational plans to support transport operations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the Games).
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the development of strategic and operational plans for public domain transport (road, passenger and active transport) to support the Games.
• Provide specialist advice and input on transport issues and opportunities in relation to Games master planning, transport network and precinct planning, major land use planning activities, transport operations and modelling and data collection.
• Project manage the delivery of planning studies and investigations to support Games planning activity.
• Preparing complex correspondence, briefing notes, reports, and other communications and supporting material related to Games transport planning.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Knowledge and relevant experience or qualifications in transport planning, urban planning, engineering, or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Proven experience in preparing or implementing transport plans to support major events, significant network changes, or influencing travel behaviour.
• Demonstrated ability to apply project management principles and methodology to deliver complex transport planning studies, plans and reports, ideally related to major events.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining productive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively
• Adaptability in responding to evolving environments and changing expectations.
