As Principal Business Analyst you will lead a small team in delivery of management accounting services to support the operations of Resources including external budget process, reporting, financial analysis and strategy, technical advice and support.

In this role you will:
• Manage and support the department's external budget process to align with strategic and operational objectives of the department including undertaking a lead role in the state budget, funding allocations, budgeting principles and system configuration and support.
• Manage the development, co-ordination, consultation, and finalisation of the annual Budget Papers including the Service Delivery Statements (SDS), Budget
Paper 2 - Concessions Statement, Budget Paper 3 - Capital Statement, Budget
Paper 4 - Budget Measures, Regional Action Plans and Local Budget Reports for the department.
• Manage the delivery of budget updates during Mid-Year Fiscal Economic Review (MYFER) and Forward Estimates to Queensland Treasury.
• Manage and support the development of budget submissions, briefing notes, presentations, documents and correspondence on a range of complex financial
management and budgeting issues.
• Provide professional advice and independent analysis to the Chief Finance Officer on external budget matters.
• Contribute to the development and preparation of financial reports and specific purpose reports including the provision of high level of expertise in financial analysis across the department using departmental business intelligence tools.
• Manage the relevant systems including those supporting the budget data for the external budget and financial reporting functionality.
• Provide high quality financial information and supporting data for the Department of Resources Estimates Hearing.
• Manage the development and review of external budget management policies and practices that support the continual improvement of budgetary and financial management within the department.
• Develop and maintain strong and constructive relationships with external stakeholders including central agencies and other State Government agencies.
• Actively build high level professional business relationships with internal stakeholders while working collaboratively across business areas to ensure problem resolution and continuous improvement.
• Other duties as directed and required.
