The role
The purpose of this role is to effectively manage an Operations Unit at a program level to support the effective and efficient use of human, financial and physical resources to ensure sustainable business performance and outcomes to enable the delivery of the Transport and Main Roads Infrastructure Program.

Key Responsibilities (also refer to Position Description):
• Lead, manage, coordinate, monitor and review a significant program of roads civil infrastructure works in accordance with program/project management methodologies.
• As a Project Director, review and monitor the performance on projects ensuring customer and business expectations are being met and to coach and mentor Project Managers' professional development.
• Lead and direct operations to ensure alignment between branch and Transport and Main Roads' goals and to review and report program performance against a balanced scorecard framework.
• Manage and co-ordinate the application of business, program and project related construction practices by ensuring that efficient procedures are implemented and to lead the continuous improvement of products and services and the overall development of the Operations Unit business.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with all partners, stakeholders and suppliers and act as the first point of contact for all RoadTek products and services undertaken by the Operations unit.
• Create a safe, open, flexible working environment for all employees, contractors and suppliers and clearly demonstrate commitment to our values, by providing leadership across the Operations unit.
• Actively participate as a member of the RoadTek Operational Leadership Team (ROLT), and relevant Business Management Team (BMT) and contribute to the strategic planning and integrated management decisions at both regional and operational unit level.
• Develop a business focussed culture that is committed to safety, environmental protection and continuous improvement.
