We are seeking a proactive and skilled Manager (Project Support Office) to join the New Albion Station project, part of the broader Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office (RIDO) within the Rail Division of the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate project support functions across a dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary project team. You will provide leadership and oversight of governance, reporting, finance, procurement, HR and information management functions to ensure successful project outcomes aligned with departmental standards and project objectives.

As a key member of the project leadership team, you will play a central role in supporting senior project stakeholders and ensuring effective performance, compliance, and integration across the project lifecycle.

The new Albion station will provide enhanced customer amenity and modern station facilities. It will also provide cross corridor community connectivity and improved customer experience, safety and network efficiency. It will link with the surrounding Albion precinct through multiple points of entry via lifts and stairs. The station will be connected by a main entry located on an elevated southern concourse (over the rail near Albion Road) and a northern overbridge (providing access to Hudson Road and Mawarra Street).

As the Manager (Project Support Office), you will lead, manage, coordinate, and direct the business management functions for the New Albion Station project and other designated projects within the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office. You will ensure robust business management systems and resources are in place to support a growing multi-disciplinary project team and drive the successful delivery of assigned projects.

Critical functions of this role include project governance and reporting including schedules, budgets, and risk management. Additionally, you will be responsible for finance, procurement, human resources and information management within scope.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and direct specific tasks or projects to effectively coordinate, monitor and report on the development and delivery of priority rail projects on time and within budget.
  • Effectively lead an integrated team comprising of TMR employees and external advisors across a range of business management disciplines, to support the achievement of required project goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and manage budget expenditure and program performance of the project and act on emerging risks and issues.
  • Coordinate materials for monthly project governance and reporting processes and provide secretariat services to senior level governance meetings.
  • Provide specialist advice to the Project Director and other key project leads about project governance, performance, financial and other business administration matters to support successful delivery of the project.
  • Identify and harness the necessary internal and external expertise to deliver business management activities for the project, including the selection, engagement and management of consultants.
  • Prepare contributions to strategic and corporate planning initiatives, the annual capital budget process and other project reporting processes including end of financial year program reporting.
  • Proactive leadership, addressing all aspects of staff performance management including recruitment and selection, appraising and developing staff, ethical behaviour and decision-making.
