Working closely with Commonwealth, State and Local Government agencies and surface transport industry stakeholders, the Transport Security (TS) program includes leading TMR's Protective Security Framework, administering the Transport Security (Counter-Terrorism) Act 2008 and facilitating the Transport Precinct Security Program.
In the role of Principal Advisor and supported by a multi-skilled team you will be accountable for:
- Leading the delivery of a program of work to administer the Transport Security (Counter-Terrorism) Act 2008, the Transport Precinct Security Program and other activities as determined by the Manager (Security Regulation and Capability).
- Whilst enduring strategies and plans leverage existing relationships between stakeholders and TMR, continue the development of stakeholder management and capability building strategies (such as exercise development and delivery), across TMR, transport operators and external stakeholders.
- Providing authoritative and strategic advice to the Manager (Security Regulation and Capability), Director (Transport Security), departmental and industry stakeholders, and state and national disaster and security representatives on complex strategic policy matters.
- Developing and preparing high level briefing papers, reports, guidance material and/or correspondence, and where required deliver verbal presentations and briefings.
- Representing the team and/or department at forums, committees and working groups concerned with developing, coordinating, and implementing policies or projects consistent with Queensland's counter-terrorism and security strategic priorities.
- Identifying and implementing customer and business improvement opportunities.
- Contributing to a safe and healthy workplace by complying with Workplace Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice, standards and departmental policy and procedures and participating in risk management and corrective action programs.
- Other accountabilities and tasks as reasonably directed.
