Senior Conservation Officer


Permits; Permissions Management & Ecotourism; Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service & Partnerships; Flexible - Preferred locations: Townsville, Cairns, Airlie Bch, Rockhampton, Maroochydore & Brisbane

This is a unique role within Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, under the Great Barrier Reef Joint Field Management Program responsible for assessing applications for authorities associated with use and access of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area (GBRWHA) including the marine parks and island protected areas such as national parks. The role will focus on reef restoration and adaptation, major projects and other authorities in accordance with the relevant State and Commonwealth legislation.

The role will be required to support and contribute to streamlining State and Commonwealth permissions for the GBRWHA through a complementary and risk-based approach and assist with the delivery of the Great Barrier Reef Joint Field Management Program strategies and priorities.
