Principal Program Officer
Accommodation Support and Respite Services Strategic Projects, Reform and Innovation; Safeguards and Reform; Service Delivery – Disability Services; Brisbane
The Principal Program Officer will lead and manage the Billing Transaction Team who perform monthly claiming/invoicing, reconciliation, debtor management, accruals/forecasting and quality checks for various NDIS services delivered by the Department. Your work will ensure compliance with NDIS Standards and align to Queensland Government legislation.
You will operate in a dynamic environment and collaborate with others to achieve objectives.
You will provide timely and effective advice on operational, service delivery and procedural issues to ensure the department achieves desired outcomes in the provision of its service.
This position will require a blend of strategic thinking, the ability to understand operational requirements, and strong leadership skills.

Some of your key responsibilities as Principal Program Office will include:
- Implement and maintain internal controls and ensure strong financial governance and tracking protocols.
- Identifying, leading and imbedding processes including risk management and mitigation strategies to ensure claiming/invoicing occurs in line with legislative standards.
- Utilising data to drive continuous improvement and perform quality assurance reviews.
- Providing high level advice (written and verbal), analysis and direction to various stakeholders in relation to the unit's responsibilities.
- Collaborative approach to ensure the department's continued capacity to deliver and maintain quality NDIS service provision.
- The preparation of high-level communication including a range of written materials such as, briefing material, dashboards, procedures, information/decision papers, cabinet submissions and executive correspondence.
- Actively contributing to building and maintaining a positive, inclusive and results-oriented culture within the work area and the broader department.
- Ensuring compliance with AS&RS Governance Structures, supporting quality outcomes for staff and participants through the delivery of quality services and continuous improvement
