The Department of Transport and Main Roads, Translink Division, is seeking a Senior Advisor (Public Transport Finance - SEQ) to join our team. The Team is responsible for delivering public transport service contract payments, financial governance and management, analysis and advice enabling financial compliance and informed decision making to support the ongoing sustainability of the public transport network.

The Senior Advisor provides accurate, timely and relevant financial information and support to business areas within the Translink Division. You will have oversight and facilitate contract payments to operators of public transport service.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and facilitate complex contract payments ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the payments and compliance with target timeframes.
- Manage the development and monitoring of budgets as well as forecasting for multiple business units.
- Provide specialist operational and strategic financial support and advice to business units within the Translink Division.
- Provide expert and high-level advice on the costing of major initiatives and current business models to support effective decision making and contract negotiations.
- Provide subject matter expertise support passenger transport related projects.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and demonstrates:
- Experience in managing complex contract payments, financial calculations, and developing financial processes and models.
- Advanced skills in financial management, including analysis, reporting, budgeting, and month-end processing.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, ensuring clarity in financial and contractual matters.
- Proficiency in finance-related ICT systems (e.g., SAP, Excel, Power Query) and relevant qualifications (e.g., Bachelor of Accounting, CPA).
