The Business Manager manages the fast-paced, high-volume environment of the Heritage Branch, Environment and Heritage Policy and Programs division. The Business Manager supports the Director of Heritage to operate the branch efficiently and effectively while delivering high quality sustainable services, programs, policy, and corporate objectives, in alignment with the priorities and policies of the Government of the day.

Your contribution:
In this influential role, you will lead a small team of high-performing staff including administrative and system officers, ensuring the seamless development, implementation and coordination of effective budget and business planning, performance management and reporting, workforce planning and management, management audits and governance frameworks, systems, processes, and activities within the branch.
The Heritage Branch delivers statutory services, and policy and regulatory work programs under various legislation, including the Queensland Heritage Act 1992, the Newstead House Trust Act 1939 and the Underwater Cultural Heritage Act 2018 (Cmth). Technical functions of the branch include heritage significance assessments, managing the Queensland Heritage Register (QHR) and supporting the Queensland Heritage Council. Heritage officers also assess development applications, including under the Planning Act 2016, provide advice to other government agencies in relation to the protection of State heritage places and maintaining digital solutions for heritage data management.
We are seeking a results-driven leader with a strong background in governance, finance, and human resources. Your ability to communicate with influence, provide sound strategic advice and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders will be essential to success in this role.
