As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Undertake complex tasks related to the production of financial reports, financial statements and address financial reporting issues to ensure Departmental compliance with relevant legislation, Government policies and the Australian Accounting Standards.
- Develop, disseminate, and provide high level advice on financial management policies, guidelines, methodologies and systems.
- Prepare and coordinate monthly financial reporting activities and address issues ensuring the reliability of financial information through analysis and collaboration.
- Analyse and reconcile data outputs to ensure the integrity of financial information systems.
- Ensure timely collection, analysis and reporting of financial information and statistics to support various financial reporting processes of the Department.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies through regular client meetings and maintaining frequent communication.
- Adapt to changes and offer solutions that assist in achieving governmental and departmental objectives and strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to staff as required.
- Participate in the continuous improvement review of work practices, systems, and processes to enhance business outcomes.
