We’re on the hunt for an energetic and reliable AO4 Executive Support Officer (E.A. & admin) to become an essential part of our tight-knit, high-performing team for 12 months (June 2025 to June 2026, with a possible extension).You’ll be the go-to person for executive support to our Executive Director, bringing structure, efficiency, and a bit of magic to the everyday.
Located at the Eco sciences Precinct in Dutton Park (Brisbane), you'll be working alongside a supportive team of admin and business support officers in the Science Development & Office of the Queensland Chief Scientist branch. This isn’t your average E.A. & admin gig—you’ll be right at the heart of a collaborative and purpose-driven team where your day-to-day contribution really counts. What you'll be doing day-to-day:
• Keeping our leaders on track with expert diary management, meeting coordination, and travel logistics.
• Managing correspondence and prepping documents with an eagle eye for detail.
• Working closely with an awesome team of professionals, providing support and making sure no one misses a beat.
• Collaborating across teams and departments—because when we work together, we work better.
• Staying organised and helping to keep our records and systems sharp, up-todate, and audit-ready.

Who you are:
• A team player to the core—you're reliable, approachable, and always willing to lend a hand.
• Experienced in admin or executive support, preferably in government or a large organisation.
• Great at building relationships—you're the kind of person people trust to get things done.
• Calm under pressure, highly organised, and able to juggle competing priorities like a pro.
• Tech-savvy, with skills in Microsoft Office, especially SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams and familiarity or willingness to learn our departmental systems like MECS, ExpenseMe Pro, SAP and eDOCS (bonus points!).
