We are seeking a Senior Procurement Officer who will provide advice, information and tactical support to senior officers and service areas in relation to procurement strategies which support the department in meeting its service delivery requirements. You will provide support across the department ensuring alignment with the Queensland Government’s Procurement Strategy and the QLD Procurement Policy.

The Senior Procurement Officer's key responsibilities are:
• Provide high level advice and services to senior management and departmental staff in relation to procurement practices and supply contracting activities and performance under the Queensland Procurement Policy in a decentralised procurement environment.
• Oversee significant procurement projects by taking responsibility for procurement plans, tender development, tender management, evaluation advice, contract negotiations and drafting, development of contract management plans, awarding of contracts, and assistance with contract dispute mediation.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and review of procurement systems, policies and procedures, and training to achieve effective and efficient strategic procurement within the department in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Continue to monitor marketplace changes and other contemporary issues as they relate to procurement to keep abreast of developments that will affect the department's procurement function, including any significant purchases.
• Research and prepare complex submissions, reports, briefing materials and correspondence for senior management on a range of procurement related issues relevant to the department.
