About us:
With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role will contribute to th development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland. Its landscape ranges from beautiful coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breathtaking rock formations. The region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.

Key responsibilities:
In the role of Project Engagement Advisor, you will contribute to the efficient delivery of the Central Queensland Region's Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) in the Mackay Whitsunday district by providing strategic communication services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs, and stakeholder relationship management.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide strategic communications advice and support to the District Director, project managers and other staff about community and stakeholder engagement, issues management and risk assessment.
• Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement for QTRIP projects in the district including development and implementation of communication and engagement strategies, researching and writing project communication materials, media enquiry responses and releases, adhering to brand guidelines and TMR style guides.
• Plan, develop, and coordinate key communication activities such as community events and consultation activities, road openings or commissioning, roadshows and displays, media opportunities, and other events as determined by the district or region, that contribute to the effective delivery of QTRIP projects.
• Research and prepare executive correspondence, project briefing materials, and reporting for leadership and project teams, maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality, using systems in accordance with record management policy and procedures.
• Foster a customer-focused team environment that builds relationships across the function and other business areas, sharing knowledge and experience to build reputation, and a best-practice approach to service delivery.
• Lead and coach customer and stakeholder staff, ensuring appropriate skill sets and training needs are identified and developed.
