Lead communications that change behaviour, shift attitudes, and protect Queenslanders at work.
We're looking for a high-calibre Marketing and Communications Manager to lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering behavioural change campaigns that matter. This is your opportunity to shape bold, innovative communications that influence safety, fairness and wellbeing in Queensland workplaces and communities.
You'll be more than a manager — you're a strategic thinker with the confidence to navigate complex challenges, develop creative solutions, and execute campaigns that cut through. You'll bring a risk-savvy mindset, strong leadership instincts, and the energy and ability to translate ideas into action. From concept to delivery, your work will inspire change where it counts.
In this role, you will:
• develop and lead the implementation of end-to-end communication and education strategies that support OIR's vision and whole-of-government priorities
• drive campaign planning, content strategy, advertising, events, digital, social and stakeholder communications that deliver real-world impact
• build and nurture trusted relationships with internal teams, executives, and external stakeholders to amplify reach and deliver collaborative, well-aligned campaigns
• lead and coach a high-performing team, building a positive culture of accountability, creativity and collaboration
• champion governance and risk management frameworks to ensure reputational integrity
• understand and apply the principles of social licence — recognising the importance of public trust, transparency and legitimacy in all communications.
About you:
You're a solutions-focused leader with strong creative instincts and a proven track record of building strategic, evidence-based campaigns that shift behaviours. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, know how to manage competing priorities, and are as comfortable drafting a communications strategy as you are diving into delivery.
You understand the power of storytelling, data, and timing — and how to bring them together for maximum effect. You've got a sharp eye for detail, a firm grasp on risk, and the interpersonal skills to foster genuine long-term partnerships with stakeholders and clients.
