The Customer Services Branch (CSB) supports over 3.35 million Queenslanders by delivering trusted services, including licensing, registration, road safety, and vehicle inspections. As Senior Advisor (Human Resources), you will provide strategic and tactical HR advice across a broad range of functions, including recruitment, performance management, and organisational development. This is a Business Partnering role where, through your engagement with leadership teams and stakeholders, you’ll drive innovative HR strategies, manage complex employee relations, and deliver impactful projects to achieve business outcomes. This role requires resilience, advanced problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of HR legislation and practices within the Queensland Public Sector.

In the role of Senior Advisor (Human Resources) you will provide high quality tactical and strategic HR advice, support and consultancy services to management and staff of the Customer Services Branch.
The Senior Advisor (Human Resources) is a business partnering role which extends across the full range of human resource management functions and requires you to work with limited supervision within a team of HR practitioners and in partnership with our leadership teams and key stakeholders across CSB and TMR to deliver business outcomes.
What you will do:
• Partner with stakeholders and colleagues across CSB in providing quality advice and support on a broad range of HR management issues using coaching and customised advice to ensure effective and positive outcomes. This will extend across the full range of human resource management functions, including but not limited to employment conditions, performance and conduct, recruitment and selection, and establishment management.
• Provide timely advice to managers for proposed management strategies which support Early Intervention and Positive Performance Management across a broad range of areas including performance management, absenteeism and health/rehabilitation.
• Manage and deliver human resource and organisational development projects to support the achievement of business outcomes.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and practical human resource management strategies, initiatives and policies that are consistent with CSB and departmental objectives.
Who we are looking for:
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies and practices, in relation to contemporary human resource practice, particularly within the Queensland Public Sector.
• Ability to apply advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills in maintaining positive employee relations in a complex industrial environment, including employee entitlements, dispute resolution and complaint management.
• Demonstrate resilience and navigate ambiguity to deliver outcomes in a complex and changing environment.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with particular emphasis on consulting, liaising and negotiating with a wide range of clients and the preparation of high quality, concise and timely submissions to management.
