The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Manage and coordinate the design, development, implementation, monitoring, review and continuous improvement of disaster management doctrine and guidelines in accordance with requirements.
- Provide high quality advice, analysis, and support to stakeholders in relation to disaster management doctrine and guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support and facilitate consultation on the development, review and implementation of doctrine and guidelines which meet sector and government requirements.
- Represent QPS and/or the State on various forums and committees to review, plan and develop doctrine with a view to promoting innovation, interoperability, and consistency.
- Prepare complex reports, briefs, submissions, and other correspondence on issues and initiatives relating to disaster management doctrine and guidelines.
- Promote and support a teamwork approach through the efficient management of human and financial resources to ensure the achievement of outcomes, and the effective delivery of quality services.
Role Requirements
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:
- Knowledge, experience, or qualifications in doctrine and guidelines related area(s), and/or disaster management will be highly regarded.
Other:
- Capacity to support operational duties during disaster events. This may require work outside of normal hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and may include deployment to other parts of the State.
