We’re looking to add to our team of rangers leading the management of the Moreton Island (Mulgumpin) and Heritage Parks team within the Coastal & Islands Region. In this position you'll take on a uniquely rewarding role managing Moreton Island (Mulgumpin) and Heritage Parks Management Units. As Senior Ranger for Mulgumpin you will be caring for lands owned by the Quandamooka People, who have voluntarily consented to a significant proportion of their lands being managed as National Park.

This role is about more than just park management, it's about partnership. The position requires an understanding of engaging with the First Nations Peoples and their interests relating to joint management of Gheebulum Kunangai National Park and should be able to demonstrate a well-developed understanding of working in land management and partnerships.
In addition, the Heritage Parks team, this position oversees are also strongly focused on achieving outcomes that are well supported by the positive community partnerships held with a range of key community partner groups, and where these heritage listed sites hold significant values with a profound meaning to many people.
Leadership is key as you'll head teams of rangers across diverse and scenic locations such as Mulgumpin and Fort Lytton and includes responsibility for other bay islands as such as St Helena National Park.
With the proximity to urban areas comes the responsibility to work alongside external agencies, particularly in matters such as bushfire preparedness and incident management—critical work that protects both the parks and nearby communities.
