Join the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development as a Senior Spatial Information Officer, located in Brisbane City. This permanent full-time role supports the acquisition, quality assurance, and delivery of aerial and satellite imagery on behalf of the Queensland Government and Local Government authorities.
About the role:
Operating from within the Spatial Information team, you'll be part of the State Imagery and Elevation group. Your work will focus on imagery data management, contract support, and quality control. You'll assist in the procurement and delivery of spatial imagery datasets that underpin critical decisions across government.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting imagery procurement, contract management, and stakeholder engagement
• Conducting quality assurance and archiving for satellite and aerial imagery
• Providing expert technical advice in imagery data processing and management
• Collaborating with stakeholders across government and private industry
• Maintaining up-to-date skills in GIS, remote sensing and emerging spatial technologies
We're looking for someone with an interest in spatial imagery and quality assurance, who can manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail. You'll be a confident communicator who engages professionally with a range of stakeholders, and you'll bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills to your work. Qualifications in GIS, Remote Sensing, Data Science or a related field are essential, along with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

- Imagery data management
- Quality assurance
- Contribution to procurement or contract management
