Emergency Management Training (EMT) delivers quality disaster management training curriculum products and services and provides a holistic approach to the capability enhancement of disaster management stakeholders through the management of the Queensland Disaster Management Training Framework in accordance with s.16A(c) of the Disaster Management Act 2003.
Reporting to the Principal Program Officer, you will be a key member of the team providing curriculum instructional design, development, review and continuous improvement of facilitator led training resources and eLearning products ensuring the curriculum remains relevant, contemporary, meets stakeholder objectives, and complies with current industry best practice and frameworks.
Your Key Accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Design, develop and review disaster management training curriculum and resources, and manage completion within negotiated timeframes and budget.
• Develop and design high quality interactive training products and content using contemporary eLearning authoring tools, ensuring digital content is ready for the delivery of on-line and/or blended learning courses.
• Ensure the appropriate application of contemporary adult education principles and methodology to all curriculum products and resources for both interactive eLearning and face to face delivery.
• Undertake research and interpret disaster management policy, guidelines and doctrine to inform curriculum content and product design.
• Provide advice and support relating to national and international disaster management planning to ensure curriculum aligns to industry competency standards and qualifications.
• Liaise, consult and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding initiatives impacting on the content and design of the curriculum products.
• Contribute to the delivery and coordination of a range of workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders in relation to projects, curriculum and best practice training programs.
Role Requirements
Qualification
• Knowledge and experience or qualifications in training and education and/or disaster management will be highly regarded.
Technical/Operational/Educational experience
• Knowledge and/or experience in project management methodologies.
Other
• Capacity to support operational duties during disaster events. This may require work outside of normal hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and may include deployment to other parts of the State.
