About the Role:
This role will ensure the current procurement activities for the region are efficiently planned and delivered and integrated into the procurement business model as expediently and efficiently as possible. This is a six month fixed-term contract with view to possible extension, and will work with a diverse team of professionals to translate the high-level goals of QBuild service delivery into measurable strategic procurement decisions that add value and contribute to the efficient financial performance for QBuild within the region.
Duties and skills involved:
- Manage continuous improvement initiatives to implement best practice procurement that optimises value and minimises inefficiencies in the procurement of goods and services.
- Lead a team and build capability across the business unit through peer review mechanisms, on the job training and skill enhancement through targeted training.
- Establish and maintain relationships with partnering suppliers to deliver competitive pricing, quality deliverables and high-level performance standards, through utilisation of resources and providing procurement solutions for programs of work.
- Interpret relevant spend analysis, finding opportunities to continually assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies and opportunities in the construction industry.
- Develop and lead the implementation of the region's industry engagement strategy in conjunction with QBuild's Procurement Governance team, managing key arrangements including activities such as market and supplier analysis, tender processes and contract management.
- Undertake procurement responsibility for interactions and coordination of Service Maintenance service offerings that are supplied for the region, ensuring all necessary procurement and contract management process improvements align to Category management and strategic sourcing service offerings, as well as to customer expectations and requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with partnering suppliers to deliver competitive pricing, quality deliverables and high-level performance standards, provide high-level advice through utilisation of resources and providing procurement solutions for programs of work.
- Interpret relevant spend analysis, finding opportunities to continually assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies and opportunities in the construction industry.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to successfully manage effective procurement and category management processes and practices in a complex and diverse organisation with view to driving positive change and innovative process improvements.
- Experience in Queensland Government Procurement practices (highly regarded)
Mandatory Requirements:
- Possession of at least Queensland PCP Level 1 Procurement Fundamentals Training from a recognised institution.
