In the role of Principal Advisor you will provide insightful analysis and strategic advice to support the development of a rolling 10-year transport infrastructure outlook of investment priorities for the portfolio.
You will work across various functions within the PfMO to ensure efficient, effective and fit-for-purpose policies, processes and practices are embedded throughout the transport infrastructure portfolio.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Contribute to the development and delivery of TMR and whole-of-government infrastructure strategies, policies, plans and pipelines that ensure successful transport infrastructure portfolio outcomes.
• Provide high-level advice to senior management to support strategic decisionmaking and ongoing management of the transport infrastructure portfolio.
• Provide strategic advice and insightful analysis on transport infrastructure investment priorities, funding commitments, issues and opportunities.
• Coordinate, prepare and review well-researched written materials, including funding submissions, briefing notes and policy documents, that inform and drive effective long-term transport infrastructure investment directions and decisions.
• Engage, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across TMR and other government agencies ensuring a customer-focused approach.
• Implement business improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency in the management of a long-term transport infrastructure portfolio.
The role also supports the Government's Objectives for the Community and Ministerial Deliverables through its involvement in prioritising and programming of road and transport infrastructure across Queensland. In particular:
• Supporting the development and management of a 10-year transport infrastructure outlook and pipeline of investment priorities, including the development of the annual 10-year Plan (to meet the new Australian Government requirement).
• Coordinating federal and state budget submissions to support the pipeline of transport infrastructure investment priorities, including funding for delivery of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games related transport projects, and managing TMR's input to Infrastructure Australia's Infrastructure Priority List.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Knowledge and qualification in Portfolio, Program and Project Offices (P3O) and/or Managing Successful Programs (MSP) is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in portfolio/program management or related activities.
• Effective written communication skills, particularly for drafting complex government submissions, briefing notes, reports, emails, and recommendations.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in policy analysis, including applying analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
